Di-tert-butyl peroxide (DTBP)
Di-tert-butyl peroxide (DTBP) is one of the most widely used organic peroxides in the petrochemical and polymer production industries. This compound is a pale yellow, transparent liquid, and due to its specific structural characteristics, it plays a key role in initiating polymerization reactions and crosslinking processes. The use of DTBP as an initiator in the polymerization of polyethylene and acrylate and styrene derivatives leads to an increase in the MFI of polypropylenes, control over polymer chains, and improvement of the final product properties.
