Polimer \u00fcreticileri, polimerlerin oksidasyona kar\u015f\u0131 stabilitesini art\u0131rmak i\u00e7in stabilizat\u00f6rler kullan\u0131rlar. \u00d6rne\u011fin, polietilen 200\u00b0C&#8217;de bozunurken, oksijen yoklu\u011funda ve azot atmosferinde 400\u00b0C&#8217;de termal olarak bozunur. Termal bozunmaya kar\u015f\u0131 stabiliteyi art\u0131rmak i\u00e7in polimere antioksidanlar eklenir.  <br\/>Polimerik malzemelerin oksidasyona ve \u00e7evresel fakt\u00f6rlere kar\u015f\u0131 diren\u00e7 derecesi, kullan\u0131m alan\u0131na ba\u011fl\u0131d\u0131r. Bir stabilizat\u00f6r\u00fcn etkinli\u011fini de\u011ferlendirmek i\u00e7in basit bir y\u00f6ntem, erimi\u015f polimerik malzemelerin oksidasyon ind\u00fcksiyon s\u00fcresini veya oksidasyon ind\u00fcksiyon s\u0131cakl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 (OIT*\/OIT) belirlemektir. Bu nedenle, oksidasyon stabilitesi g\u00f6sterdikleri maksimum s\u00fcre ve s\u0131cakl\u0131\u011f\u0131 tahmin etmek \u00f6nemlidir.  <br\/>OIT, standart bir DSC testidir.
